Esther Bordet is a French comic artist based in Whitehorse, Yukon. She creates and self-publishes stories inspired by her Yukon life, her travels and her dreams. Her comic “Breakup” was published in the Northern Gaze Comic Anthology (Hecate Press, 2021 – Broken Pencil Zine Awards 2021 “Comic Zine of the Year”). In 2022, she was the recipient of a Yukon Government grant which allowed her to study and experiment with narrative forms in comics such as ellipses. She is also leading a collective Zine project with a group of Yukon-based artists and illustrators. Esther is excited to release the first chapters of her debut graphic novel “Makalu” this year, a story inspired by the adventures of her great-uncle geologist in the Himalayas back in the early fifties.
