Power & Magic Press is an independent comics publisher based in Portland, Oregon, founded by queer, Afro-Cuban cartoonist and editor Joamette Gil. Our mission is to empower BIPOC and LGBTQ+ cartoonists to create comics that reflect *our* worlds (and all else we dare to imagine)! We’re best known for our Ignatz-nominated flagship title, POWER & MAGIC: The Queer Witch Comics Anthology, and the Prism Award-winning HEARTWOOD: Non-binary Tales of Sylvan Fantasy. Our latest title, MAÑANA: Latinx Comics From The 25th Century, marks our first foray into science fiction, as well as our first publication available in both English and revolutionary gender-inclusive Spanish editions. Now, we are ringing in 2024 with our first ever open submissions period accepting graphic novel pitches from solo creators!
