Hi my name is Shannon (They/Them). I am a queer, non-binary and Chinese Canadian zinester, illustrator and art therapist. My highschool art teacher used to criticize my work for being “too cute” to be real art. However, drawing cute illustrations is one of the ways I explore the uncertainties of the world, and cope with the gloom in my daily life. My art reflects my passion for mental health education, queer joy and honouring my inner child. I look forward to debuting a new zine about grief and the loss of one of my closest friends at this year’s VanCAF.
